Reptex Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Reptex mobile application and related services ("the App"), operated by SJO Global Pty Ltd ("Reptex", "we", "us"), an Australian company. Reptex is offered throughout Australia. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Reptex. The App is not directed at children under 13.

If you are under 18, you may use Reptex only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and you must not purchase a subscription without their authorisation (see section 5).

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, the confidentiality of your login, and all activity under your account.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App unlawfully, access other users' data, interfere with the service, reverse-engineer or misuse the App, or upload unlawful or infringing content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the records, photos, and information you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store and process Your Content solely to provide the service. You are responsible for Your Content and for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.

4. Reptile keeping is regulated — your legal responsibility

Reptile acquisition, licensing, permitted species, minimum keeper age, housing and welfare standards are regulated by the law of each Australian state and territory, and these requirements differ between jurisdictions — including the minimum age to hold a keeping licence and whether a parent or guardian must be involved. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws that apply where you live, including obtaining any required licence or permit, sourcing animals lawfully, and meeting welfare obligations. Reptex does not verify your eligibility to keep any animal and grants no licence or permit. Commonwealth laws (such as the Australian Consumer Law) apply nationally but do not replace state and territory laws governing reptile keeping; both apply.

5. Subscriptions, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds

Reptex Pro unlocks premium features; the optional Reptex Breeding add-on requires an active Reptex Pro subscription. Prices and plans are shown in the App before purchase.

Platform billing. Subscriptions are sold and processed by the platform you buy on — Apple (App Store) on iOS and Google (Google Play) on Android — via RevenueCat, and are subject to that platform's terms. We do not process card payments or store card details.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

Managing and cancelling. Cancel in App Store then Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play then Payments and subscriptions then Subscriptions (Android). Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period. Deleting your Reptex account does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we do not issue store refunds directly.

Purchases by under-18s. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to subscribe, and the subscription must be purchased with their authorisation. Where your device's app-store account is managed by a parent or guardian (Apple Family Sharing / Ask to Buy or Google Family Link purchase approvals), the store will seek their approval. A parent or guardian who authorises or approves a subscription is responsible for it, including auto-renewal, and may cancel it at any time. By subscribing while under 18 you confirm you have that permission.

Your consumer rights are preserved. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Animal husbandry guidance — limitations

Reptex provides general informational and record-keeping tools only. Care guides, target ranges, seasonal/lighting suggestions, feeding and breeding guidance are general information, not professional, veterinary, or legal advice, and may not suit every species, morph, individual animal, or jurisdiction. Reptex is not a veterinary service and does not diagnose, treat, or monitor animal health. Always consult a qualified exotics veterinarian for health concerns. Automated environmental sensing and hardware alerts are not provided; environmental data is what you enter manually. To the extent permitted by law (and subject to section 8), we are not liable for outcomes arising from reliance on the App's guidance or from your keeping of animals.

7. Apple-specific terms

For App Store purchases, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA) governs your licence to use the App, except where these Terms add non-conflicting terms. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce the applicable EULA.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available". Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or non-excludable right under the Australian Consumer Law. Where our liability can lawfully be limited, for failures to comply with a consumer guarantee relating to services our liability is limited (at our option) to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied; otherwise our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Service availability and termination

We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. Keep your own copies of important records. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time — see https://reptexapp.com/delete-account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach or as required by law.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts competent to hear appeals from them. Nothing in this clause limits any non-excludable right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or requires you to bring proceedings outside the State or Territory in which you ordinarily reside where the law gives you that right.
